Predictive factors of response to interferon in chronic HBV hepatitis
نویسندگان
چکیده
Background It is well known that the virological response after pegylated interferon (IFN) treatment in chronic HBV hepatitis is less than 50%. The main advantage of IFN is the finite duration of therapy. A response guided therapy in this situation would be very important in order to recognize earlier the patients with poor response. Unfortunately, Romanian guidelines for HBV hepatitis treatment do not include a response guided therapy and IFN-based regimens are recommended for one year. Objective: To analyze the factors correlated with the virological response to IFN in chronic HBV hepatitis.

Influence of Vitamin D Receptor Gene Polymorphisms on Response to Pegylated Interferon in Chronic Hepatitis B Egyptian Patients
Background: We explored the effect of vitamin D receptor gene (VDR) polymorphisms in response to PEG-IFN treatment in Egyptian chronic hepatitis B (CHB) patients. Methods: Two hundred hepatitis B virus (HBV) patients (42.3±10.7 years) on PEG-IFN α-2a (180 μg /kg for 48 weeks) and one hundred control subjects (37.3 ±12 years) were enrolled in the study. Vitamin D levels a...

Background:Tenofovir is among the first-line treatments for chronic hepatitis B (CHB) virus infection. We evaluated the efficacy of Tenofovir in the treatment of Iranian adult patients with CHB. Methods: In a retrospective study, we evaluated 154 HBsAg positive patients referred to Sadoughi hospital in Yazd-Iran for treatment ...
متن کاملHEPATITIS Response to interferon alfa is hepatitis B virus genotype dependent: genotype A is more sensitive to interferon than genotype D
Background an aims: Current interferon alfa (IFN) treatment of chronic hepatitis B has limited efficacy. The role of hepatitis B virus (HBV) genotypes for response to IFN was investigated. Patients and methods: HBV genotype was determined by direct sequencing of the HBV X gene in 165 consecutive patients with chronic replicative hepatitis B treated with standard IFN. HBV genotype A or D was fou...

متن کاملCorrelation between Polymorphism of -56 SNP (T/C) Interferon-γ Receptor 1 Gene and Chronic HBV Infection
Background and Aims: chronic HBV infection is one of the most common viral infections in worldwide which many factors such as genetic factors are involved in pathogenesis of disease. Gamma interferon (IFN-γ) and its receptor (INFGR) play a critical role in the immune response to HBV infection. Single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) are effective on level of gene expression, The aim of thi...
